Bell Bay
OVERVIEW
Bell Bay Cargo Terminal is located in the Port of Bell Bay and is accessible via Mobile road Bell Bay. It is designed as a container & general cargo Terminal that can handle RO/RO - general cargo and container type vessels.
The site complies with all Australian Customs requirements and operates as a 24/7 facility.It is operated as an open access regime allowing any stevedore to apply & operate from the terminal assuming space is available.
THE FACILITIES
The terminal has one berth availibilty ( No 5 Berth) which is able to handle vessels up to 200 metres in length. Road and rail access for cargo movement is available 24/7 which is managed by stevedore operator.The sheds & amenities buildings available for stevedore operators are modern and clean also security of the Terminal is managed by Tasports.
The Terminal area structure is capable of handling all types of cargo including heavy lifts. Containers of all configuration are handled with refrigerated area available.
Two cranes are located on site for both ship and shore operations with the following lifting capacity;
Gantry Crane 60m/t
Gottwald Crane 100m/t.
OPEN ACCESS REGIME
The new facilities will be operated as an open access regime. Any stevedore may apply to have access to the site to service their customers. The access is on a non-discriminatory basis so that all parties are provided services to the same level.
Stevedores seeking access can apply through AAT who will provide a stevedore licence as applicable.
Tarriffs are published and are available to all parties seeking access to the site. The tarriff will be displayed at the site and will be published on the Web-site.
Within the stevedore licence, dispute resolution procedures are provided to enable parties to resolve any assues that may arise.
